A Life-long Legacy – Part 1

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children…” – Proverbs 13:22 (NKJV)

Today, we celebrate Timothy’s grandmother, Lois, whose name means “superior” and “most beautiful,” and her daughter, Eunice, whose name means “good victory”. They both accepted Christianity. To become a Christian, you have to admit you’re a sinner, believe in Jesus Christ, His birth, death, burial, and resurrection, and confess that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Saviour – the ABC of salvation. The Jews, at that time, believed in one God and in the Torah, which are the five books of Moses,  also called the Pentateuch.

Lois was a real model of motherhood, a strong and rooted woman, as she handled God’s Word wisely. She understood that her Jewish beliefs alone could not save her nor the beliefs of Timothy’s father, who was a Greek and an unbeliever of the Jewish faith (Acts:16:1). Despite issues and conflicts, this mother and daughter trusted God on a daily basis, knowing that God’s legacy and lifestyle last forever, unto eternity. The life they lived was honest and genuine. Sisters, prayers for our children and their children. Be an example of a firm lively faith and; “…“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” – (Matthew 22:37 (NIV).

Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the first principle of the Gospel, it’s a spiritual gift, and it’s necessary for our salvation – this dynamic impact influence of the Kingdom of God. Everyone has influence – we can all influence someone with our God-given gifts. Influence is not for our selfish purpose, but it is for us to share the Good News. Eunice used this positive platform to influence her household. (A wise woman puts God first). With these foundational solid Christian values of spiritual growth that she passed to her daughter, they both devoted their time and effort to educating Timothy.
